What is Tesla Paint Shop / Toybox?

Tesla Paint Shop (also called Toybox) is a built-in feature in Tesla vehicles that lets owners display custom wrap designs on their car's dashboard screen. You can upload a PNG image via USB and it appears as a virtual wrap on the car's display.

Is TeslaWrap free to use?

Yes! TeslaWrap gives you 10 free credits when you sign up. Each AI-generated wrap costs 1 credit. You can also upload your own wrap designs for free. Additional credits can be purchased starting at $5.

How do I install a custom wrap on my Tesla?

Download your wrap as a PNG file. Format a USB drive as exFAT, FAT32, or ext3/4. Create a folder called "TeslaUSB" on the drive. Copy the PNG file into that folder. Plug the USB into your Tesla, open Toybox > Paint Shop, and select your image.

Which Tesla models are supported?

TeslaWrap supports Model 3, Model 3 (2024+), Model 3 Performance (2024+), Model Y, Model Y (2025+), Model Y Performance (2025+), Model Y Premium (2025+), Model YL, and Cybertruck — all with accurate templates for each variant.

Can I upload my own image as a Tesla wrap?

Yes! TeslaWrap lets you upload any PNG image and use it as your Tesla wrap. Just go to the Create page and select "Custom Upload" mode. Your image will be formatted and stored for download.

What is the Clone Wrap feature?

Clone Wrap lets you take any existing design from the gallery and re-generate it adapted to a different Tesla model. If you love a wrap made for a Model Y, you can clone it for your Model 3 or Cybertruck with 2 credits.

What resolution and format does the wrap need to be?

Tesla Paint Shop requires wraps to be 4096x1080 pixels, under 5MB, in PNG format. TeslaWrap automatically generates your wrap in the correct dimensions and format, ready to load via USB.

Can I share my wrap with the community?

Yes! When you create a wrap you can set it as public, which adds it to the community gallery. Other Tesla owners can browse, like, and clone your design for their own vehicles.

How to Use Custom Wraps

Download the template for your specific vehicle model (see links below)
Edit the template with your custom design (fill in the white areas)
Save your design as a PNG file (512x512 to 1024x1024 pixels, max 1 MB)
Load your wraps onto a USB drive in a folder called Wraps
Apply in your Tesla: Toybox → Paint Shop → Wraps tab

Requirements & Setup

Image Requirements

Resolution: 512x512 to 1024x1024 pixels (use template size for best results)
File Size: Images must be no larger than 1 MB.
File Name: Use alphanumeric characters, underscores, dashes, and spaces only (max 30 characters).
File Format: Images must be in PNG format.
File Count: Up to 10 images can be used at a time.

USB Drive Setup

Format the USB drive as one of the following:
- exFAT
- FAT 32 (for Windows)
- MS-DOS FAT (for Mac)
- ext3
- ext4
Note: NTFS is not currently supported
Create a folder called Wraps at the root level of the drive
Place your PNG files inside the Wraps folder
Ensure the drive doesn't contain map or firmware updates
