Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about designing and installing custom Tesla wraps.

What is Tesla Paint Shop / Toybox?
Tesla Paint Shop (found inside the Toybox) is a built-in feature in Tesla vehicles that lets owners display custom wrap designs on their car's dashboard screen. You upload a PNG image via USB and it appears as a virtual wrap on your car's display — no physical vinyl required.
What is TeslaWrap?
TeslaWrap is an AI-powered platform that lets you design custom wrap images for the Tesla Paint Shop. You can describe your vision in plain text, and our AI generates a unique wrap design sized perfectly for your Tesla model. You can also upload your own designs and share them with the community.
Is TeslaWrap free to use?
Yes! When you sign up you receive 10 free credits. Each AI-generated wrap costs 1 credit. Uploading your own wrap designs is completely free. If you need more credits, you can purchase additional packs starting at $5 — no subscription required.
Which Tesla models are supported?
TeslaWrap supports 9 vehicle variants with accurate templates for each: Model 3 (legacy), Model 3 (2024+), Model 3 Performance (2024+), Model Y (legacy), Model Y (2025+ Standard), Model Y (2025+ Performance), Model Y (2025+ Premium), Model YL, and Cybertruck.
How does AI wrap generation work?
You choose your Tesla model, select a wrap style (artistic, racing, gradient, etc.), and describe your vision in a text prompt. Our AI — powered by Google Gemini — generates a 1024x1024 PNG wrap image matched to your model's template. The process takes about 10–30 seconds.
What is the Reference Image feature?
Reference Image lets you upload any photo — artwork, a pattern, another wrap, or anything that inspires you — and the AI will generate a new wrap that captures the colors, mood, and style of your reference. It costs 2 credits per generation.
What is Clone Wrap?
Clone Wrap lets you take any design from the gallery and re-generate it adapted to your Tesla model. If you love a wrap designed for a Cybertruck, you can clone it for your Model Y or Model 3 with 2 credits. The AI adapts the style while preserving the original design's character.
Can I upload my own image as a wrap?
Yes! Go to the Create page and choose 'Custom Upload' mode. You can upload any PNG image and it will be stored and formatted as a wrap. Uploading is free and does not require any credits.
Can I share my wrap with the community?
Absolutely. When you create or upload a wrap, you can set it as public. Public wraps appear in the community gallery where other Tesla owners can browse, like, download, and clone your design.
How do I install a custom wrap on my Tesla?
Download your wrap as a PNG file. Format a USB drive as exFAT, FAT32, MS-DOS FAT, ext3, or ext4. Create a folder called 'TeslaUSB' in the root of the USB drive. Copy the PNG into that folder. Plug the USB into your Tesla, open Toybox > Paint Shop, and select your image. It appears instantly on your car's display.
What USB format does Tesla support?
Tesla Paint Shop supports USB drives formatted as exFAT, FAT32, MS-DOS FAT, ext3, or ext4. exFAT is recommended as it supports large files and works on both Windows and Mac without extra software.
What resolution and format does the wrap need to be?
Tesla Paint Shop requires wrap images to be 4096×1080 pixels, under 5MB, in PNG format. TeslaWrap generates wraps at the correct dimensions and format automatically — you just download and copy to USB.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire. Once purchased, they remain in your account indefinitely.
How do I get more credits?
Go to the Pricing page and choose a credit pack. We offer three options: 10 credits for $5, 25 credits for $10, and 50 credits for $15. Payment is processed securely via Stripe — no subscription, no recurring charges.
